Karl, Kristine and Zander Safranek:

Kristine and I (Karl) met in college at Michigan Technological University. Kristine was in the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority and I was in the Sigma Pi fraternity. Since we both were greek, we had many opportunities for our paths to cross. Of course, Kristine hated me at first, since apparently I was mean to one of her friends (Lisa). But, that same person informed me that Kristine thought I was cute (whatever!). So, I proceeded to see if there was any chance we might 'hook up'. With very little persuasion (yeah right!), we began a relationship. We both look back and laugh at the thought that we both never would have conceived we'd eventually marry.

After both of us graduated from college in 1995, I wanted to try living together. This being at the same time we were adjusting to our new careers, Kristine at GM and I at Haden, Inc. Our work locations were a good hour and change apart, so we battled to see where we would live, hence deciding Grand Blanc would suffice. So, we moved in a 2 bedroom apartment. We stayed in this apartment for nearly 2 years, and in turn learned alot about each other.

Our careers were going well and we were commited to purchasing a home. We found a great house just 2 miles from the apartment, still in Grand Blanc. It was a 3 bedroom, 1200 sq.ft ranch. The house was nice and had a generally big yard, considering it was in a subdivision. Now had a house, what was next?

Marriage. Since I travelled alot with work, I knew Kristine was having a hard time with dealing with me being gone. I knew I had to make a move because it was time to show her I was in for the long haul. I proposed and thankfully Kristine accepted in November of 1998. Immediately, Kristine wanted a New Year's Eve Millenium wedding. My thought, great, good luck, tell me what time I need to show up. Just kidding, I helped in the planning and decision making... (Sounds good honey, works for me honey, you know best honey). So, on 12/31/1999 we got married in the Fenton area and celebrated the New Year and Millenium with family and great friends. You can check out our wedding pages here. I'll leave all the details on those pages.

Being married to Kristine has been an experience, all good of course. I can honestly say, I've found my soul mate and life partner, no matter how much she wants to kick my butt sometimes and I pushing all the right buttons to start silly arguments.

With Kristine's career taking a fast track, she was promoted at her work (now Delphi) and we were given the opportunity to move (compensated ofcourse), to the metro Detroit area. Sounded great to me, seeing that's where I grew up. Finding a house was very tiresome. After many viewings and compromises, we found a beautiful house in Macomb Township. The house is a colonial style with a huge great room, sized around 2250 sq.ft. We lost some space in terms of backyard size, but it is much larger than a standard subdivision size lot. We love the house but quickly learned the traffic in this area is HORRIBLE. We have no plans as of yet to move, however have been discussing buying some acreage to build a house someday.

Our family has consisted of us and our dogs, the girls, two of which have passed on, now the boys and Kosmo. You can check out our pets here. Our dogs were our children, until Zander.

Zander has come into our life. Finally, according to Kristine who had to wait 9 grueling months. But he has arrived, and we are very excited. OK, we are scared sh#tless. I guess we'll stumble along the way.

Feel free to check out our individual bios if you've actually read up to this point.
